The Northern Light Cinema is proud to announce that we have our very first official Patron – actor turned screenwriter, the blossoming local talent that is Eve Hedderwick Turner.


“I am very proud to be the first patron of The Northern Light Cinema. Wirksworth is a special place – a town that encourages and platforms creativity in all forms. It was an inspiring landscape to grow up in and I always love coming home to visit! Paul and Esther have exciting plans for supporting budding artists through the cinema and I am thrilled to be a part of it.“
Eve is a Writer and Performer who grew up in Wirkworth and went on to graduate from Cambridge University in 2011 and is now currently living and working in South East London.
An an actress she appeared in theatre, film and TV with highlights including the BBC’s Blandings, Casualty and Doctors, as well as a role on Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass.
Eve’s first television series, Anne Boleyn, is now in post-production with Sony Pictures backed Fable Pictures, and is due to be aired on C5 in May this year. Queen & Slim actress Jodie Turner-Smith plays the titular role, Queen Anne Boleyn, wife to Tudor king Henry VIII and mother of the future Queen Elizabeth I.


She is currently working on a feature film commissioned by the BFI and Dorothy Street Pictures, and has several projects in development with leading British indies.
Eve was recently featured as one of Deadline’s eight British Writers to watch out for in 2021
